Familiar Faces

1983 - 1985
Similar to my other work, the type of camera I chose for this series was critical to the photographs. With an 8 x 10” view camera, each face on the ground glass felt more like an expansive landscape than a surface only inches wide. I showed multiple images of the same person because it felt essential to adequately describe something about who they were.

The prints are selenium toned silver contact prints from 8 x 10” paper negatives.
